Shed Poets at Dalkey Book Festival

The Shed Poets,  Bernie, Marguerite and Carol read at the Dalkey Book Festival on 16th June 2012 at 11am in The Club. It was a great reading with over 30 people coming to hear them - despite competition from the main events.

Congrats to the group for their wonderful poems.

Bealtaine Group Reading at IWC

Bealtaine Reading - Friday, May 11th - 1pm
Bealtaine Writers group was formed from a series of workshops organised by Age and Opportunity at IWC and led by Eithne Strong as part of 1999 Festival. The group continue meeting at IWC once a month  13 years later. The group includes five of the Shed Poets.

Their reading includes music by Eoin Flood, an award-winning guitarist, who specialises in music for recitals and events and in guitar tuition. He is performing with Bealtaine Writers' group, fulfilling Age and Opportunity's aim this year to be inter-generational.

Carol Boland's first poetry collection

Carol Boland will launch her first poetry collection, in assoc with Wicklow Arts Festival, on Sunday 27th May 2012 at 3pm in Ernies Bar (upstairs), in Wicklow Town.

All are invited to join the party!

Judy Russell - Poetry Ireland Introduction Poet

Shed Poet, Judy Russell, has been selected out of over 50 poets, as one of this year's Poetry Ireland Introduction poets. This award includes a series of paid public readings with an accompanying masterclass.

Judy will be reading at the Irish Writers Centre on 22nd May at 6.30. All welcome.

Shed Poets New DVD

The Shed Poets, in collaboration with Little Fish Films, have produced a wonderful short film.   Each poet reads three of their own favourite poems against a backdrop of imaginative images and original music. Included with the DVD is a picture booklet with the poems.

The film will premiere on Tuesday 1st May 2012 at the Space Inside Arts session in Wicklow Sailing Club.
Entrance is free and all are welcome.

DVDs will be on sale on the night.
